How charging works
One charge a month, for what you actually published.
Backers pick an amount per release. You keep publishing. Once a month, we add it up.
What happens each month
- You publish. Every episode, post or video is registered from your feed, or you add it yourself.
- Around the 1st, we look back. For each backer we count the releases from the month that just ended, starting from the day they joined.
- One charge, one receipt. Amount × releases, collected once. The receipt lists every release it covers.
A quiet month costs nothing
Take a break and nobody is charged. No minimum, no keep-alive fee, nothing to explain to your backers.
New backers pay from the day they join
Releases from before they joined are never charged. If they want to, they can back a recent episode or two right at signup.
Skip a release
Published a trailer or a rerun? Mark it as skipped before the month ends and it is left out of the charge.
Monthly or weekly instead
If your work runs on a calendar rather than releases, pick monthly: one fixed amount in each monthly charge. Weekly works the same way, times the number of weeks that ended that month, so four or five.
What backers can do themselves
- Change the amount. It applies to future charges.
- Pause until the 1st of a later month.
- Cancel any time.
If a card is declined, there is no silent retry. The backer gets an email with a link to confirm the payment, and their support stays in place.
Fees
8% plus Stripe’s transaction fee, taken per charge. The rest lands in your Stripe account and pays out on Stripe’s schedule. See pricing.
